MANORA FIELD NOTES

I had the honor as a photographer to document Manora Field Notes, the Pakistan Pavilion next to Arsenale has been created by a multi-disciplinary artist. Naiza Khan and curated by Zahra Khan, Co-Director of Foundation Art Divvy, for the Pakistan’s first participation in the Art Venice Biennale.

Manora Field Notes will gain a unique insight into what life is like on Manora Island as portrayed through the lens of the artist. The works engages with multiple bodies of knowledge - archival material, historic myths, conversations with local communities and architectonic features such as ruins and construction sites. It constitutes an archive of different lived experience and reflects the shifting power dynamics with the landscape.
